What are the various types of CCTV lenses?

Most of the network cctv cameras on this site come with one of the following lenses:
Fixed Focus Board Lens – these are miniature lenses with a fixed focal length. In some cases the lenses may be exchangeable for Board Lenses of different focal lengths. See the individual camera data sheets for more details.
Fixed-Focus CS-Mount Lens. The CS Mount lens is a common standard lens. This is of a fixed focal length, but can be exchanged for any other fixed focal length CS-Mount lens. These lenses can also be replaced by vari-focal lenses, where the lens focal length is set up on installation to get the best possible field of view. Beware, CS-Mount lens capability does not imply the ability to use auto-iris lenses, this is a separate feature.
Vari-Focal Fixed-Iris Lens – these are generally CS-Mount lenses which can be adjusted manually for focal length, and sometimes for iris aperture.
Vari-Focal, Auto-Iris Lens – these are also generally CS-Mount lenses which can be adjusted manually for focal length (to obtain the best field of view) but also have a Direct-Drive Iris (driven from the camera itself) which automatically adjusts the exposure to match the lighting conditions. These lenses can only be used on ip cctv cameras which have Direct-Drive, Auto-Iris controls.
